Phoenix Bass Fishing League (Boater)

Clarks Hill | Wildwood Park

Finishing position: 25th

#fish caught: 4

#fish weighed: 4 Big Fish: n/a

lbs. of fish: 10.00

Tournament Conditions: Weather conditions were favorable. Mostly clear skies and air temperatures hovering in the low 60’s. Water temperatures were still cool anywhere from 42-52 degrees depending on the area of the lake. The lake was down about 6’ with clear water down near the dam and lightly stained water further up the lake. Winds were light throughout the tournament, which made for stable fishing conditions. Practice went well, but I never really had an established pattern. I had hoped for a much better finish as Clarks Hill has been one of my better lakes to fish. I’m taking the positives from this tournament and staying focused for the next event. 1st place came in with 22lbs by a local angler which is pretty good bag for Clarks Hill.

Phoenix Bass Fishing League (Boater)

Lake Murray | Dreher Island State Park

Finishing position: 28th

#fish caught: 5

#fish weighed: 5 Big Fish: n/a

lbs. of fish: 12.09

Tournament Conditions: Weather conditions were interesting, with heavy rains and constant changing wind conditions. The air temps were in the low 60’s during the morning and into the upper 70’s as the day went on. Water level was down about 3’-4’ likely from the winter draw down. Water clarity was mostly clear in most of the areas I fished. This tournament fished very well for the few top anglers that were able to keep up with the changing fish pattern during the day. The winning weight was 29lbs, which is an solid weight. Practice for me in this tournament was decent but come tournament day, my plan didn’t seem to play out as I wanted. While my results were not what I expected I did learn allot of new things. I obviously missed a key signal to key in on what the fish were doing. Overall I’m ok with the start for this 2026 season compared to last year but I truly thought i could make a solid run to be in the top 10.

Phoenix Bass Fishing League (Boater)

Santee Cooper Lakes | John C. Land III Landing

Finishing position:‍ 43rd ‍

#fish caught: 1

#fish weighed: 1 Big Fish: 6.02

lbs. of fish: 6.02

Tournament Conditions:‍ Weather conditions were changing throughout the week. The air temps were in the low 40’s during the morning and into the upper 60’s as the day went on. Winds were relatively calm most of the tournament. Water level was down about 2’ likely due to winter draw down. Water clarity was mixed. Half of the lake was super muddy and the other was clear. Water temps were much cooler than I expected which I think drew the fish back out of the spawning mode. Practice for me in this tournament was really tough and looking at the tournament results this was a tough tourney. The winning weight was 26lbs, which was much lower than I expected. This finish has me in 14th overall in the trail so i’m ok with that but i’m still working to find a tourney win!

Phoenix Bass Fishing League (Boater)

Lake Hartwell | Green Pond Landing

Finishing position: 22nd

#fish caught: 5

#fish weighed: ‍5 ‍Big Fish: n/a

lbs. of fish: 11.09

Tournament Conditions: Weather conditions were generally favorable, although a cold front moved through earlier in the week and brought some very rough conditions. Morning air temperatures were in the mid‑60s and warmed into the mid‑80s as the day progressed. Winds remained relatively calm throughout the tournament. Water levels were down close to six feet, with mostly clear water on the lower end of the lake, while other areas were muddy due to recent rainfall.

This tournament fished tough, with a winning weight of 18 pounds. Practice went well for me, but on tournament day I had to make adjustments as many of the fish had moved out of the areas I had located earlier. Lake Hartwell can be very humbling, but this event gave me a lot of confidence. My finish moved me up to 12th in the Angler of the Year standings, which is a positive start to the season, and I’m looking forward to continuing to climb the rankings.
